California Rancho history will come to life as you hear the story of Don Raymundo Olivas, a wealthy rancher in Ventura County, his family and the expansive adobe home he built in 1847-1949. Enjoy "hands-on" experiences in adobe brick making, rancho tool use and roping, corn grinding, and tortilla making. Drive further north to Santa Barbara and enjoy a visit to the zoo donated and built on the Child's Estate. The zoo features many endangered species as well as animals of the wild placed into captivity for protection and educational value.

Continue your tour at the Natural History Museum learning about the life of the Chumash Indians indigenous to the area, exhibit halls featuring the study of paleontology, oology (study of bird eggs), insects, mammals, and astronomy. Arrive at the "Queen of the Missions," named for its architectural beauty, for a guided tour. See early mission period artifacts which are exhibited in the mission museum.
